Smash Remix: Project Galleon
About the Game
Smash Remix: Project Galleon is a Super Smash Bros. Nintendo 64 game built on top of the well-known Smash Remix project. It keeps the original Smash 64 gameplay while expanding the roster with many community-created fighters, crossover characters, extra stages, and more music.
๐ฎ Why Smash Remix: Project Galleon Stands Out
After spending time with this game and comparing it with the original Super Smash Bros. and Smash Remix, one thing becomes clear. The gameplay still respects the Nintendo 64 original. The biggest difference comes from the huge amount of community-created content.
You still battle with percentage-based damage, recover back to the stage, and knock opponents off the arena. At the same time, you can choose from many more characters and battlefields than the official game ever offered. Some of the highlights include:
- Based on the original Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64)
- Built using the Smash Remix project
- Large roster of crossover and fan-created fighters
- Many custom stages
- Expanded soundtrack
- Local multiplayer support
- Classic Smash 64 combat mechanics
๐ฅ A Bigger Character Selection
One of the biggest reasons to try Project Galleon is the expanded roster. Alongside Nintendo characters from the original game, you can find many fighters that come from other gaming franchises and community projects.
- Ryu
- Ken
- Cloud
- Kazuya
- Spider-Man
- Shovel Knight
- Uzi Doorman
- Lucia
- Rebecca
๐ Battle Across More Stages
Project Galleon includes many battle arenas beyond the official Nintendo 64 game. You can expect:
- Community-designed stages
- Crossover battlefields
- Classic Smash locations
- Extra competitive arenas
๐ต Music Collection
The soundtrack goes well beyond the original Nintendo 64 release. You will notice:
- Extra background music
- Community music selections
- More variety between battles
โ๏ธ Gameplay That Stays True to Smash 64
Project Galleon does not replace the core combat system. You still use:
- Normal attacks
- Smash attacks
- Special moves
- Shield
- Grab
- Throw
- Air attacks
- Recovery moves
Damage still works with percentages. Higher percentages send your character farther after every hit. That familiar system remains one of the strongest parts of Smash 64.
๐ No Story Mode, Just Battles
This game does not include a traditional story campaign. The focus stays on multiplayer battles, CPU matches, and unlocking victories across different stages using your favorite fighters.
๐ฏ Why Many Smash Fans Enjoy This game
Project Galleon has earned attention across the Smash community for several reasons.
Strong points include:
- Huge amount of playable content
- Faithful Smash 64 gameplay
- Creative crossover characters
- Excellent replay value
- Large stage selection
- Community support
