Sonic 3 Rebuilt

Sonic 3 Rebuilt is a 2D platform game based on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for the Sega Genesis. It keeps the classic side-scrolling gameplay with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles while providing changes to gameplay, presentation, and available options.

You can run through familiar zones, collect Rings, destroy Badniks, use special abilities, and search for routes through each Act. The game also retains the familiar Sonic formula of speed, platforming, exploration, and boss encounters.

Sonic

Tails

Tails can fly for a limited period by using his twin tails. This ability gives you access to areas that may be difficult for Sonic to reach.

Knuckles

Knuckles can glide through the air and climb certain walls. His abilities provide access to routes that differ from Sonic's path.

Your character choice can therefore change how you approach parts of the stages.

🌴 Explore Classic Sonic Zones

The adventure uses the familiar zone-based structure associated with Sonic 3.

You travel through several different environments, with each zone containing multiple Acts and a boss encounter.

The stages include areas such as:

• Marble Garden Zone
• Carnival Night Zone

The level design uses slopes, loops, springs, moving platforms, hazards, and hidden routes. You need to react quickly while also watching the environment for alternate paths.

💍 Rings Still Matter

Rings remain an important part of the gameplay.

You can collect Rings throughout the stages. They protect you from most enemy and hazard hits because Sonic loses his collected Rings instead of immediately losing a life.

If you have no Rings when you take damage, you normally lose a life.

Rings can also appear along alternate routes, so exploration can reward careful movement.

🤖 Watch Out for Badniks

Each zone contains different enemies and environmental hazards.

You can defeat most standard enemies by jumping onto them or using a rolling attack.

You also need to avoid:

• Spikes
• Moving hazards
• Bottomless pits
• Environmental obstacles
• Enemy attacks

Learning enemy locations becomes useful when you replay a stage and try to complete it with fewer mistakes.

💨 Speed Is Only Part of the Game

💎 Special Stages and Emeralds

The Blue Sphere-style gameplay requires you to move through a special course and collect the required objects while avoiding obstacles.

Collecting all the required Emeralds can unlock access to the powerful Super forms.

⭐ Super Sonic and Other Forms

Chaos Emerald collection is tied to the game's special character forms.

Once you obtain the required Emeralds, you can access enhanced forms such as Super Sonic.

These forms provide greater power and different gameplay characteristics compared with the standard character.

🏁 Act-Based Progression

Each zone is divided into Acts.

Your basic progression works like this:

1. Enter a zone.
2. Complete the Act.
3. Continue through the next section.
4. Reach the zone's boss.
5. Defeat the boss.
6. Continue to the next zone.

The structure gives you clear progress while still leaving room to search for hidden paths and collectibles.
