Subway Surfers World Tour: Osaka is a 2025 update to the original Subway Surfers endless runner game, and this time with an Osaka-themed setting. The game dropped as the 199th world tour stop and brings new characters, boards, and challenges inspired by Japanese street culture and Golden Week festivities. We recently added this version to our website because we know people enjoy location-based updates. If you’ve played Subway Surfers before, you will love playing this game too.
I tried it as soon as it launched. The Osaka skyline lit up the tracks, and I really liked how the new surfers and boards matched the theme. There’s also a new Surfers Pass system now, which replaces the older Season Hunt, and it gives better rewards as you progress.
What's Special about Subway Surfers World Tour: Osaka
New Surfers: You can unlock Oni Hime and Saru, both themed around Osaka. Saru also gets a “Kyaputen” outfit, while Thunder receives the “Urban Hero” costume.
Hoverboards: Three new boards are available—Zapline, Trespasser, and Mizu Dash. All three fit the Osaka city vibe perfectly.
Surfers Pass: This replaces the old Season Hunt. You collect koi fish tokens and complete tasks to unlock cosmetics and rewards across multiple tiers.
Event Challenges: Includes Marathon Run, Tag Time Attack, Mystery Hurdles, Floor Is Lava, One Run, and Plant Invasion. Some of these are seriously tough—I failed the “no floor” level three times before I finally cleared it.
Background & Music: The setting has glowing billboards, train tracks over rivers, and lantern-lit side streets. The music reflects Japanese festival beats and really sets the tone for each run.
