Digimon World Dawn
About the Game
Digimon World: Dawn is a Nintendo DS role-playing game from the Digimon Story series. You join the Light Fang team in Sunshine City and investigate a disaster that causes Digimon across the Digital World to devolve into Digi-Eggs. Your progress depends heavily on collecting Digimon, managing their evolution paths, training them, and completing quests.
๐ Your Adventure Starts With Light Fang
Your story begins in Sunshine City, where you become part of the Light Fang team.
A major incident soon affects the Digital World. Digimon start to devolve into Digi-Eggs, and suspicion falls on the rival Night Crow organization from Darkmoon City. Your main objectives include:
- Investigating the Digital World disaster.
- Completing Union Quests.
- Exploring different areas.
- Raising your Digimon team.
- Uncovering the reason behind the conflict.
- Working toward the later story events.
๐งฌ Collect Digimon Through Scan Data
Dawn uses a different collection method from Pokรฉmon-style capture.
When you encounter a Digimon, the game records Scan Data automatically. More encounters increase the scan percentage for that species. Once the required data is collected, you can use the DigiLab to convert that data into a Digimon for your own collection. This system gives you a simple routine:
- Encounter a Digimon.
- Build its Scan Data percentage.
- Reach the required amount.
- Convert the data at the DigiLab.
- Train your new Digimon.
- Choose an evolution route.
โ๏ธ Battles Use a Five-Position Formation
Combat uses a five-position battlefield. You can have three active Digimon at one time, with additional Digimon available as reserves. Position matters because attacks can target different areas. You may choose to:
- Keep Digimon next to each other for support effects.
- Separate them to reduce exposure to group attacks.
- Move a Digimon to another position.
- Replace an active Digimon with a reserve.
- Select attacks based on their target range.
๐ก Build and Manage Your DigiFarm
Your DigiFarm is the main training area for Digimon that are not currently in your active party. You can place Digimon on Farm Islands and use different terrain and equipment to influence their development. Farm Goods provide specific benefits, while the island setup affects the type of training your Digimon receives. You can use the farm to:
- Train reserve Digimon.
- Improve specific statistics.
- Develop species-based experience.
- Organize Digimon outside your main party.
- Customize the island setup.
๐ Quests Drive Your Progress
Questing is a major part of the adventure. You can visit the Quest Reception Desk and accept requests from Digimon. The game separates quests into different categories, including Species Quests and Union Quests. Union Quests are tied to the main storyline. Your quest routine can involve:
- Traveling to another area.
- Finding a specific Digimon.
- Collecting items.
- Defeating enemies.
- Completing an objective.
- Returning to the quest counter for your reward.
๐๏ธ Sunshine City Is Your Main Hub
Sunshine City contains several facilities that you will use throughout the adventure. Important locations include:
- Tamer Home
- Quest Reception Desk
- DigiLab
- DigiFarm facilities

- DigiColiseum
๐ Equipment Matters Too
Your Digimon can use equipment that improves their abilities. Equipment can include:
- Weapons
