Pokemon Emerald Blitz

Pokémon Emerald Blitz is a Game Boy Advance ROM hack based on Pokémon Emerald by FranklyNathan. It has a very different purpose from a standard Pokémon adventure. The project is built for draft-auction Nuzlocke races, where you select a team, race through a shortened Hoenn campaign, and try to finish before your opponents.

🏁 Pokémon Emerald Blitz Is Built for Racing

A normal Pokémon Emerald playthrough can take many hours. Emerald Blitz has a much shorter structure. A complete run is designed around roughly two hours of gameplay, from the first Gym through the final battles. You can play it in two main ways:

• Draft race: You and your friends draft Pokémon before the run.
• Solo mode: You can use the in-game Random option to receive a randomized team.
• Nuzlocke format: Fainted Pokémon follow the game's run restrictions.
• Race format: Completion time becomes an important part of your success.

💰 You Start With a Fixed Budget

Money works differently here. You begin with 62,000 money. You cannot sell items, and regular Trainer battles do not provide money.

That creates a simple but important economic decision. You need to decide what deserves your money. The Slateport outdoor market sells several useful resources, including:

• Evolution Stones
• Mega Stones
• Power TMs
• Ability-changing items
• Berries

Your spending decisions can influence how prepared your team is for later battles.

🧚 Fairy Type and Modern Battle Mechanics

Several later Pokémon mechanics are part of Emerald Blitz. You get:

📚 Newer TMs Give You More Options

Emerald Blitz uses several later-generation TMs. Examples include:

🐉 Flygon Replaces the Traditional Bike

One of the most memorable changes is the Flygon Bike. Flygon serves as your main bike-style mount. It can:

• Jump over ledges
• Cross shallow water
• Jump over certain obstacles
• Fly
• Move quickly through routes

🧭 Hoenn Exploration Is Shorter

Emerald Blitz removes many of the parts that normally slow down an Emerald campaign.

Story events involving Team Aqua, Team Magma, Steven, Wally, and Scott are removed. Ordinary Trainers also do not automatically start battles when they see you. You can interact with them if you want to fight.

This gives you more control over your route. You can avoid unnecessary battles and focus on the next required objective.
