Pokemon Throwback: Kanto Refined

Pokemon Throwback: Kanto Refined is a completed Game Boy Advance (GBA) game created by RichterSnipes. It is based on Pokémon FireRed and aims to improve the original Kanto journey while staying faithful to the Game Boy Advance games. Instead of replacing the story or introducing a new region, the hack focuses on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, restored content, and optional enhancements inspired by the Generation I Pokémon games.

🗺️ Return to the Kanto Region

Your adventure follows the same main storyline as Pokémon FireRed.

During your journey, you will:

• Travel across the Kanto region.
• Collect the eight Gym Badges.
• Battle Team Rocket.
• Challenge the Elite Four.
• Complete your Pokédex.

The goal of the hack is to refine the original experience instead of creating a brand-new story.

🎯 My Experience

What stood out to me was how closely the hack stays connected to the original Pokémon FireRed.
