Sonic Advance 2 SP

Sonic Advance 2 SP is a Game Boy Advance ROM hack of Sonic Advance 2 created by TrackerTD. It keeps the original game's core platforming but changes several areas that received criticism. The main work focuses on enemy placement, bottomless pits, alternate routes, and Special Ring access.

The hack was released on August 13, 2023. TrackerTD describes it as an attempt to improve some of the less-liked parts of Sonic Advance 2 without removing its demanding gameplay.

Sonic Advance 2 SP does not replace the original adventure with a new story. You still get the familiar Game Boy Advance platforming structure. Your main job is to move through stages, maintain momentum, defeat enemies, collect Rings, and reach the goal. The hack concentrates on level design. Its documented changes include:
