FNF vs Flaky Remake (Happy Tree Friends)

FNF vs Flaky Remake, also known as Falling Flakes, is a Friday Night Funkin' mod based on the animated series Happy Tree Friends. You play as Boyfriend and face Flaky and several other characters from the series through a collection of rhythm battles.

The remake was created by Venesio_ofc and released on January 30, 2022. It uses the Psych Engine and was developed as a reimagination/remake of the earlier Vs. Flaky mod owned by CommandGenius1.

🦔 Meet Flaky

Flaky is the main character of the remake. She is a red porcupine from Happy Tree Friends and appears in several of the main songs.

Other characters appear as the story progresses:

• Flaky
• Giggles
• Petunia
• Flippy / Fliqpy
• Jenny
• Robeatis

Giggles and Petunia join Flaky during Turvy, while Flippy/Fliqpy becomes important during Aggression. Jenny and Robeatis appear in additional songs.

🎵 Seven Songs to Play

The remake contains seven playable songs:

• Quills
• Shock
• Turvy
• Aggression
• XJ3
• Robeatis
• Red

The first three songs focus on Flaky and her friends. Aggression changes the situation by bringing Fliqpy into the battle, while the remaining songs provide additional content.

🎮 How the Rhythm Battles Work

The gameplay follows the standard Friday Night Funkin' format. You need to press the correct directional keys as the notes reach their targets.

The remake also has a special Flipped difficulty. In Aggression, this mechanic changes the difficulty behavior of the song: Hard becomes easier and Easy becomes harder, while Medium does not use the flipped system.

🩸 Fliqpy's Notes

Aggression contains another special gameplay element.

During the song, some notes appear on your side of the chart and are associated with Fliqpy. Hitting these notes causes blood splatters to appear on the screen.

This mechanic fits the darker violence associated with Happy Tree Friends and gives Aggression a different presentation from the earlier songs.

🎨 What Was Changed in the Remake?

The remake was not simply a new version of the original charts. The project received substantial changes to both presentation and gameplay.

• Six playable songs in the initial remake presentation, with Red also listed among the current seven-song set

🎬 A Happy Tree Friends Story

The mod uses characters and situations from Happy Tree Friends, a series known for combining cute-looking characters with graphic cartoon violence.

Flaky is particularly afraid of Fliqpy, Flippy's violent alter ego. That relationship is reflected in the remake's story and in the Aggression song, where Flaky and Boyfriend run from Fliqpy.

The remake therefore uses more than just the characters' appearances. Their established relationships also influence the events shown in the mod.

• W / A / S / D — Alternative note controls in supported versions
• Enter — Confirm / select
• Escape — Back or pause, depending on the version
