Magnetic Soccer
About the Game
Magnetic Soccer is a Game Boy sports game developed and published by Nintendo. It was released in 1992 for the European market. Instead of following the style of traditional football games, it recreates the experience of tabletop football. Your team moves in fixed rows, just like a physical table soccer game, which gives every match a very different rhythm from other soccer titles on the Game Boy.
โฝ A Different Style of Soccer
Magnetic Soccer does not use free movement like most football games. Instead, your footballers stand in fixed rows. You move an entire row left or right to block shots, intercept passes, or create scoring chances. This design follows the same idea as classic tabletop football games.
๐น๏ธ How Each Match Works
Every match follows simple rules that are easy to understand. Your objective is to score more goals before the match ends. During a game, you can:
- Move player rows sideways
- Shoot the ball
- Block incoming attacks
- Charge stronger kicks
- Defend your goal
๐ฟ Three Different Playing Surfaces
Magnetic Soccer includes three field types. You can choose:
- Grass
- Ice
- Hard Ground
๐ฎ More Than One Game
Nintendo included several play options despite the Game Boy's hardware limitations. Available modes include:
- Single Match
- Training Mode
- Spectator Mode
- Two-Player Link Cable Mode
