Pokemon Emerald XTREME

Pokémon Emerald XTREME is a Pokémon adventure set across Hoenn with expanded Pokémon availability, modern battle mechanics, time-based encounters, regional weather, restored Contests, new areas, and several quality-of-life features. The current release includes Pokémon up to Generation 7 and uses systems such as Mega Evolution, Z-Crystals, the physical/special split, and Terastallization.

🌿 Explore a Larger Hoenn Adventure

Your journey takes place across Hoenn, with multiple map revisions and additional maps.

The game keeps the region’s familiar progression while giving you more activities to discover. The documented feature list includes two large post-game islands, four trainer facilities or gauntlets, and an expanded Battle Frontier.

You can also encounter Pokémon from later generations, which gives you more options when planning your team.

🧬 Pokémon Through Generation 7

Pokémon availability extends through Generation 7.

This is one of the major differences in team building. Your choices are not limited to the Pokémon associated with the original Hoenn Pokédex.

Some Pokémon also have different types. Documented examples include:

• Tropius — Grass/Dragon
• Grovyle — Grass/Dragon
• Sceptile — Grass/Dragon
• Gyarados — Water/Dragon

The Battle Frontier also uses Pokémon from later generations.

⚔️ Modern Battle Systems in Hoenn

Your battles use several mechanics associated with later Pokémon generations.

Physical and Special Split

Moves use the physical/special split, which changes how you evaluate attacks and Pokémon stats compared with the original Emerald battle system.

Mega Evolution

Mega Evolution is available as part of the game’s later content. Development information specifically placed this feature in the post-game.

Z-Crystals

Z-Moves are also included through Z-Crystals. This gives you another battle option when building a team and planning important fights.

Terastallization

Terastallization is another documented battle system in Pokémon Emerald XTREME.

🌦️ Hoenn Uses Regional Weather

The game has a Region Wide Dynamic Weather System.

Hoenn is divided into several weather regions. Each region uses its own weather table, and the selected conditions reset each day.

The documented areas include:

• West
• East
• Northwest
• Tropical
• Cold Ocean
• Warm Ocean

Certain locations retain their own weather behavior instead of using the regional system. Route 113 is one documented example.

This system makes weather a regular part of your exploration rather than something restricted to a small number of scripted locations.

🎭 Contests Return Across Multiple Towns

Contests receive major attention in this project.

The separate Contest Hall structure uses several Hoenn towns:

• Slateport City — Normal Rank
• Verdanturf Town — Super Rank
• Fallarbor Town — Hyper Rank
• Lilycove City — Master Rank

A useful quality-of-life change gives you a Contest Pass and Pokéblock Case from each contest lobby receptionist. This reduces the need for repeated travel between towns before you can participate.

The Contest Halls also exist alongside the Battle Tents rather than replacing them.

🛠️ Helpful Quality-of-Life Features

Several everyday systems have been streamlined.

You can use features such as:

• Reusable TMs
• Forgettable HM moves
• A move relearner from the Pokémon Summary screen
• Pokémon renaming from the menu
• Indoor running
• A run toggle
• Following Pokémon
• Object shadows
• Mints
• An updated Pokédex interface
• Trade-evolution bypasses

The trade-evolution bypass was enabled in version 1.10, with a Linking Cord available at the Mossdeep City Mart.

These features reduce some of the routine menu work and make team management more convenient.

🪙 Metal Alloy and Pokémon Gambling

Pokémon Emerald XTREME also uses Metal Alloy as a special currency.

You can obtain Metal Alloy in several documented ways:

• Receive one after defeating a Gym Leader.
• Receive one free Metal Alloy each day in Slateport City.
• Purchase Metal Alloy at most PokéMarts.

The currency is used for the game’s Pokémon gambling feature.
