You can choose to play the role of a male or a female. There are plenty of new things added to this version, like a new region, a series of mega evolutions, and some new generation Pokémon.

Pokemon Mega Power Version is a fan-made ROM hack based on Pokémon Emerald. Created by 1158, the game features a completely original storyline, custom regions, Mega Evolution mechanics, and a protagonist who begins as a Pokémon researcher rather than a young trainer. Unlike many Pokémon ROM hacks that retell an existing adventure, Mega Power presents its own world, characters, and objectives.

One thing that stands out about this hack is its focus on scientific research and genetic experimentation. The story takes a very different direction from the traditional Gym Badge journey found in official Pokémon games.
