Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire Plus
About the Game
Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire Plus is a pinball game based around Pokémon collecting. You control a Poké Ball instead of a traditional character. Your main goals include keeping the ball in play, scoring points, catching Pokémon, evolving them, and completing your Pokédex.
🏓 Pinball Mechanics You Need to Know
Your Poké Ball moves around the table as you use the flippers to keep it from falling.
You can hit bumpers, targets, lanes, ramps, and other table objects. Certain targets activate special events.
The original scoring system includes four main Poké Ball levels:
- Poké Ball: Standard scoring
- Great Ball: 2× scoring
- Ultra Ball: 3× scoring
- Master Ball: 4× scoring
🔄 Evolution Has Its Own Process
Captured Pokémon can also progress through evolution.
During Evolution Mode, you collect the required evolution items. Once the required items are available, you can complete the evolution process through the appropriate table target.
Your collection therefore has several stages:
- Catch Pokémon
- Collect evolution items
- Evolve eligible Pokémon
- Record your progress
- Continue filling the Pokédex
🗺️ Travel Between Different Areas
Travel Mode changes the area available for Pokémon encounters.
The original game has nine areas in total. Some areas are shared between both fields, while others are specific to Ruby or Sapphire.
The selected area affects which Pokémon you can encounter during Catch 'Em Mode.
🎰 Use the Slot Feature
The tables contain a slot-machine-style feature.
You can light the required HOLE indicators and send the Poké Ball into the central hole.
Depending on the current game state, the slot feature can provide rewards such as:
- Score bonuses
- Catch 'Em Mode
- Evolution Mode
- Ball Saver
- Ball upgrades
- Extra balls
- Score multipliers
- Bonus-stage access
Using table targets carefully can help you reach these rewards.
📖 Is There a Story?
There is no traditional Pokémon RPG storyline.
You do not follow a conventional trainer journey with Gym battles and a long dialogue-driven campaign.
Instead, your progress centers on:
- Pinball scoring
- Pokémon encounters
- Catching Pokémon
- Evolution
- Area progression
- Pokédex completion
- Bonus stages
- Shiny collection
- Higher scores
