About the Game

Sonic Robo Blast 2 (often abbreviated SRB2) is a free, open-source 3D platform game developed by Sonic Team Junior. Development began in 1998, and the game runs on a heavily modified version of the Doom Legacy engine. Its gameplay takes inspiration from the classic Sega Genesis Sonic games while presenting the adventure in a fully 3D environment. The browser version available on gaming websites is a web port of the original PC game.

Every zone contains multiple routes, hidden areas, Rings, enemies, and boss battles against Dr. Eggman. Exploration plays an important role because many shortcuts and secrets depend on the character you choose.

💎 Collect the Chaos Emeralds

Hidden Emerald Tokens inside the main stages unlock Special Stages.

In these stages, you collect Blue Spheres before time runs out. Collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds unlocks Super transformations for supported characters, including Sonic, Knuckles, and Metal Sonic.

🎯 My Experience

What impressed me most was the level design. Instead of simply running to the goal, I spent time exploring hidden paths and experimenting with different characters. Flying with Tails or climbing walls with Knuckles completely changed how I approached many stages. The game captures many ideas from the classic Genesis titles while creating its own original levels.
