About the Game
Pokemon Conversion Emerald is a modified version of the original third-generation adventure. A community developer named Ravendeth designed this specific ROM hack to give familiar companions completely different purposes. You explore the Hoenn region with new strategies because standard elemental matchups no longer apply. I have spent hours analyzing the type swaps, and you must constantly adapt your team to survive. You battle gym leaders and rival teams just like the original release, but you will encounter updated monster designs along the way.
Type Effectiveness Changes
You must memorize a new set of rules for combat. Ice-type attacks now resist standard Normal and Flying moves. Additionally, Fairy types possess a severe weakness to Bug attacks.
Monster Categorization
The developer reclassified many creatures. You will find that most humanoid monsters now function as Fairy types instead of standard Normal types. The game also contains fewer pseudo-dragons and includes more genuine Dragon types.
Time and Travel
A new Day and Night system utilizes natural illumination inside caves. You can also run indoors because the game removes the building movement restriction. If you need to change the internal clock, you can interact with the Gamecube console inside your bedroom.
Field Abilities
You do not need dedicated HM users on your team. Creatures with physical wings can automatically Fly, and monsters with sharp claws can Cut obstacles.
Nursery Mechanics
Any two monsters can breed together to produce an egg. Once you receive an egg, the hatch time requires half the standard amount of steps.
Encounter Statistics
Every creature receives a flat ten percent increase to its base catch rate. The shiny appearance rate is now zero point five percent, which equals one in every two hundred encounters. Many of these rare monsters also display completely new alternate colors. You can evolve trade-exclusive monsters simply by maximizing their friendship level.
