Pokemon Rubbish Red

Pokemon Rubbish Red is a Pokémon FireRed game created by LiuNora. This project follows a unique idea. Instead of giving you stronger Pokémon, it limits your choices to weaker and often ignored species. The result is a very different Kanto adventure where team planning becomes much more important.

During my research, one thing became clear. Pokemon Rubbish Red is not a story overhaul or a graphics project. Its identity revolves around making overlooked Pokémon matter.

🗑️ A Kanto Journey Built Around Underrated Pokémon

Most Pokémon adventures make it easy to build a team with powerful favorites.

Pokemon Rubbish Red takes another direction.

Wild encounters have been replaced with Pokémon that are generally considered weaker choices. Many species that rarely appear on endgame teams suddenly become valuable members of your roster.

One feature that stands out is the trainer balance.

Most trainer teams remain close to the original Pokémon FireRed experience. The difficulty comes from your available Pokémon rather than major trainer upgrades.

The encounter system received the biggest overhaul.

Wild Pokémon distributions are completely different from standard FireRed. Static encounters have also been adjusted with only a few exceptions.

The storyline remains unchanged.

You still begin in Pallet Town, receive a starter Pokémon from Professor Oak, battle Team Rocket, earn Gym Badges, and work toward becoming the Pokémon League Champion.

Fans of classic Kanto will immediately recognize the journey.
