This version is based on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, but it removes one of the most important mechanics from the original release. You cannot rely on ring protection after a hit. Every jump, enemy, and trap matters more. Progress depends on timing, route choice, and careful movement through each zone.
