Sonic 1: Bouncy Edition

Sonic 1: Bouncy Edition is a fan-made game based on the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. The main idea behind this hack is simple: Sonic constantly bounces after touching the ground. This single gameplay change completely alters how you move through familiar stages. Areas that are easy in the original game often require different timing and routes in this version.

The hack keeps the original zones, enemies, bosses, and story from Sonic the Hedgehog while changing Sonic's movement physics.

🔵 What Makes This Version Unique?

• Sonic automatically bounces when he lands.
• Original Sonic the Hedgehog levels remain intact.
• Green Hill Zone and other classic stages play very differently because of the new physics.
• Many jumps require new timing compared to the original game.
• Familiar shortcuts can become harder to reach.
• Boss fights require a different approach due to constant bouncing.

🕹️ A Different Way to Play Sonic 1

The original Sonic the Hedgehog focuses on running, jumping, and maintaining momentum. Sonic 1: Bouncy Edition changes that formula by forcing Sonic into continuous hops whenever he touches the ground.

Because of this modification, you cannot simply run through stages as you would in the original release. Every platform, enemy, and obstacle requires more attention. Even experienced Sonic fans often need time to adjust to the altered movement style.

🌴 Classic Zones Return

This hack uses the stages from the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

You will travel through:

• Green Hill Zone
• Marble Zone
• Spring Yard Zone
• Labyrinth Zone
• Star Light Zone
• Scrap Brain Zone
• Final Zone

Dr. Eggman remains the main antagonist, and the original boss encounters are still present.
