Sonic Advance - Double Take is a Game Boy Advance game based on the original Sonic Advance by Sonic Team and Dimps. The project, created by Rhythm Raccoon, focuses on refining the original game instead of changing its story. Stage layouts have been carefully adjusted, several hazards have been reworked, and exploration becomes more rewarding without changing the core Sonic gameplay.

The story follows the original Sonic Advance. You choose Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy and travel across seven zones to stop Dr. Eggman. Along the way, you collect Rings, search for the Chaos Emeralds, defeat bosses, and unlock the game's true ending. Story events and characters remain exactly as they were in the original release.

This game focuses on gameplay improvements. Several stage sections have been adjusted to create smoother movement and reduce unnecessary interruptions.
