Sonic OMG Red Rings

Sonic OMG Red Rings is a modified version of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive, where every ring and monitor has been swapped with a dangerous red ring. Unlike the regular rings, these red rings are fatal if touched, which requires players to make precise moves to avoid them. Each level now feels like a complex obstacle course as red rings bounce around unpredictably.

🔴 Every Ring is a Red Ring

The defining feature of this ROM hack is the replacement of the standard collectible rings.

Throughout the game:

• Gold rings are replaced with Red Rings.
• Ring locations remain unchanged.
• Rings still provide the same gameplay functions.

The Red Rings in this hack are purely a visual change. They are not the collectible Red Rings introduced in later official Sonic games.

🌴 Play Through the Original Adventure

The complete Sonic the Hedgehog campaign remains intact.

You travel through the original zones:

• Green Hill Zone
• Marble Zone
• Spring Yard Zone
• Labyrinth Zone
• Star Light Zone
• Scrap Brain Zone
• Final Zone

Your objective is still to defeat Dr. Robotnik and free the animals trapped inside Badniks.

⚡ Classic Gameplay Remains Unchanged

The ROM hack preserves the mechanics of the original 1991 release.

You still:

• Run through side-scrolling stages
• Jump on enemies
• Collect rings
• Enter the Special Stages
• Collect Chaos Emeralds
• Defeat Dr. Robotnik

The only noticeable difference during gameplay is the appearance of the collectible rings.
