Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis

Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis is a 2D platform game released in 2006 for the Game Boy Advance. It is a port of the original Sonic the Hedgehog that launched on the Sega Genesis. This version came out during the 15th anniversary of the Sonic series. You play through the same classic zones, including Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone, but on portable hardware.

After testing this version and comparing it directly with the 1991 release, you will notice key differences. The level layouts remain identical. The physics aim to copy the original momentum system. However, performance issues change how the game responds to your input. This version has become well known in Sonic history because of those technical limits.
