Sonic 1 Lunacy is a ROM hack of the original Sega Mega Drive Sonic game created by Masochistic Maniacs. This version was released as a demo and became known for its warped level design and unusual atmosphere. The hack doesn’t change the overall story of Sonic’s mission against Dr. Robotnik, but it changes how you experience the stages. You run through strange loops, misplaced enemies, and odd bouncing paths that keep you guessing. It is chaotic, yet still carries the original Sonic speed and ring system.
