About the Game
Sonic the Hedgehog (NES) – Improvement Plus Tracks is a fan-made platform game ROM hack based on the unofficial NES port of Sonic. It builds on the well-known Famicom/NES bootleg version that many retro fans connect with titles like Somari. This version focuses on polishing the original NES conversion instead of copying the Sonic the Hedgehog from the Sega Mega Drive.
You run through side-scrolling stages, collect rings, and defeat enemies just like the 16-bit classic. The physics still reflect the limitations of the NES hardware. That part stays true to the original bootleg structure. What changes here is the presentation and technical cleanup. From my review of community forums and longplay videos, this version feels more stable and better tuned than the early NES release.
