Sonic The Next Level is a fan-made game of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. The project was created by MarkeyJester and released in 2015. Within the Sonic gameing community, it is often referred to as Sonic 1: The Next Level. The hack received significant attention for its original artwork, custom gameplay mechanics, and polished presentation.

🌪️ A Single Zone With Three Unique Acts

Unlike many Sonic games that modify existing levels, Sonic The Next Level contains a completely original zone called Gust Planet.

The adventure consists of:
