Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
About the Game
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 is a Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario World, which originally appeared on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Nintendo released the game in 2002 as the second title in the Super Mario Advance series. It keeps the core adventure from the SNES version while including several enhancements for the handheld system, such as voice clips, updated animations, and support for collecting Dragon Coins across every level.
🍄 Rescue Princess Peach from Bowser
The story begins after Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach travel to Dinosaur Land for a vacation. Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach during the trip. Mario and Luigi set out across Dinosaur Land to rescue her while defeating Bowser's forces and helping Yoshi along the way.
⭐ What makes this version different?
This Game Boy Advance edition stays faithful to the original game but includes several additions.
Notable features include:
- Play as either Mario or Luigi.
- Save Dragon Coins after collecting all five in a stage.
- Updated character voices.
- New animations for Mario and Luigi.
- Link Cable support for the multiplayer game Mario Bros.
- Battery-backed save system.
These changes make the handheld version different from the original SNES release while keeping the same world map and level design.
🦖 Explore Dinosaur Land
Your adventure takes you through forests, caves, castles, ghost houses, and mountains. Every area contains hidden paths, secret exits, and power-ups.
You can discover:
- Multiple routes across the world map.
- Secret exits that unlock new areas.
- Yoshi eggs hidden throughout Dinosaur Land.
- Switch Palaces that activate colored blocks.
- Star World and Special World for additional levels.
Exploration rewards careful observation because many stages contain more than one exit.
🌟 Power-ups you can use
Several familiar items appear during your adventure.
- Super Mushroom – Makes Mario or Luigi larger.
- Fire Flower – Shoots fireballs at enemies.
- Cape Feather – Grants the Cape form, which allows gliding and flight after gaining enough speed.

🎯 My Experience
I enjoy this version because it keeps the original Super Mario World adventure while making good use of the Game Boy Advance hardware. The level design still rewards exploration after many years, and finding secret exits remains one of the most satisfying parts of the game. The portable format also makes it easy to complete a few stages during a short play session.
