Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are role-playing games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Released in 2022, these titles introduced the ninth generation of Pokémon games and marked the series' first fully open-world mainline adventure.

Unlike earlier Pokémon games that guided you through a fixed route, Scarlet and Violet give you much greater freedom. You can travel across the Paldea region, choose your objectives, and explore large areas in almost any order.

🗺️ Welcome to Paldea

The adventure takes place in the Paldea region, which draws inspiration from the Iberian Peninsula.

You attend the prestigious Naranja Academy in Pokémon Scarlet or Uva Academy in Pokémon Violet. Shortly after beginning your studies, you receive a treasure hunt assignment that encourages exploration across the region.

From that point, you can decide where to go and which objectives to pursue first.

📖 Three Stories, One Adventure

Instead of following a single storyline, Scarlet and Violet feature three major questlines.

Victory Road

Travel across Paldea and defeat Gym Leaders to earn Gym Badges.

Path of Legends

Search for powerful Titan Pokémon and uncover the mysteries surrounding rare Herba Mystica.

Starfall Street

Confront Team Star, a group of students who have withdrawn from the academy.

Completing all three stories unlocks the final chapter of the adventure.

✨ The Terastal Phenomenon

One of the biggest gameplay additions is Terastallization.

This mechanic transforms a Pokémon into a crystal-like form and grants it a Tera Type.

During battles, Terastallization can:

• Increase the power of moves matching the Tera Type
• Change defensive type matchups
• Create new battle strategies

Every Pokémon can use this mechanic if it has enough Tera energy.

🐉 Legendary Partners

Early in the adventure, you meet one of two legendary Pokémon.

• Koraidon in Scarlet
• Miraidon in Violet

These Pokémon help you travel across Paldea. As the story progresses, they gain new movement abilities such as swimming, gliding, and climbing.
