Sonic Megamix 3.0 is a fan-made Sonic platformer that completely rebuilds the original Sonic the Hedgehog using a custom engine hack. This version reworks the classic gameplay you remember from the Sega Genesis era, but with upgraded visuals, new music, modern mechanics, and five playable characters. Five Playable Characters: You can choose from Sonic, Mighty, Shadow, Tails, and Knuckles. Each character has unique moves and strengths. For example, Sonic now has a homing attack and peel-out dash. Tails can fly, and Knuckles can glide and climb walls.
Revamped Zones: The classic stages from Sonic 1 have been completely redesigned. You’ll notice new layouts, hazards, and secret routes that give you multiple ways to finish each zone.
Elemental Shields: You can collect the fire, lightning, and bubble shields just like in Sonic 3. These help you survive longer and offer new movement options based on your environment.
New Visuals and Music: The graphics use a darker, more modern color palette. Each zone has new background art and remixed music tracks—some inspired by Sonic CD and other fan projects.
Chaos Emerald Quest: Just like the original game, you can collect Chaos Emeralds by completing special stages. Once you collect them all, you unlock the true ending.
Better Enemy AI: The badniks behave more aggressively. Some have improved movement patterns that make them trickier to avoid or defeat.
