Pokemon Homestead
About the Game
Pokémon Homestead is a short Pokémon experience focused on Pokémon care, personality, and matchmaking rather than battles. You play as Millie, a novice Pokémon Breeder who needs to complete a test from Professor Elm. Your main task is to understand different Pokémon and find suitable matches for Trainers.
🏡 Your Role as Millie
You take the role of Millie, a novice Pokémon Breeder. Her work centers on Pokémon care and conservation.
Professor Elm gives Millie a test. You need to understand the Pokémon under your care and select suitable companions for the Trainers who visit.
🧩 How the Main Puzzle Works
The main gameplay revolves around personality and compatibility.
You encounter 7 Trainers and 11 Pokémon. Each Trainer has particular requirements, while the Pokémon have their own personalities and characteristics.
Your task is to examine the information available to you and determine the suitable match.
Your main activities include:
- Talking to Trainers.
- Learning about their requirements.
- Observing the personalities of Pokémon.
- Comparing Pokémon characteristics with Trainer preferences.
- Selecting suitable Pokémon for individual Trainers.
- Completing Millie's breeder test.
The game does not use battle strength as the main method of progression. You need to pay attention to the information given during the experience.
🎨 Scrapbook-Style Presentation
The visual presentation uses a scrapbook-inspired interface instead of the standard presentation you may expect from a traditional Pokémon adventure.
You can also see custom artwork and character portraits during conversations. The portraits have multiple expressions, which helps distinguish the different characters you meet.
The visual work includes:
- Custom character portraits
- Custom Pokémon presentation
- Custom environments
- Scrapbook-inspired interface elements
- A custom title screen
- A custom ending screen
- Different visual palettes for the time of day
🧠 What You Need to Pay Attention To
You do not need complicated battle strategies here. Careful reading is much more important.
Keep these points in mind:
- Read each Trainer's requirements carefully.
- Pay attention to Pokémon personalities.
- Compare the available information before making a selection.
- Do not judge a Pokémon by battle strength.
- Remember that compatibility is the core puzzle mechanic.
- Take your time when checking the available clues.
The short length also makes it possible to complete the central experience without committing to a long adventure.
