About the Game
Sonic 3 and Amy Rose is a fan-made ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 that replaces Sonic with Amy Rose as the main playable character. The hack allows you to experience the original Sonic 3 adventure through Amy while keeping the familiar stages, enemies, bosses, and storyline intact. For many Sonic fans, this project offers a chance to play a classic Sega Genesis game with a character who was not playable in the original release.
The hack became popular within the Sonic ROM hacking community because Amy Rose did not become a regular playable character until later entries in the series.

๐ The Story Stays the Same
The adventure follows the original Sonic 3 storyline.
After the destruction of the Death Egg, Doctor Eggman attempts to repair his plans on Angel Island. Meanwhile, Knuckles the Echidna protects the Master Emerald and initially views the hero as an intruder.
In this ROM hack, Amy Rose takes the role that Sonic originally occupied during the story.

๐ธ About Amy Rose
Amy Rose first appeared in Sonic CD in 1993. She became one of the most recognizable characters in the Sonic franchise.
Since Amy was not playable in Sonic 3, this ROM hack modifies the game so you can control her throughout the adventure. Depending on the version of the hack, Amy may use custom animations and movement adjustments inspired by later Sonic games.
Some versions also include abilities based on Amy's signature Piko Piko Hammer, while others focus mainly on visual character replacement.
