Pokemon Beta Gold Remake
About the Game
Pokémon Beta Gold Remake is a GBA hack of Pokémon FireRed built by Lanetis. It is another new Pokémon hack that you can play online on our website. This project takes the Spaceworld 1997 demo of Gold and Silver and rebuilds it into a complete game. The demo was once just an unfinished showcase, but this remake turns it into a playable adventure with beta Pokémon, a new map, and many mechanics that were left on the cutting room floor.
When I tried this hack, the first thing I noticed was the unusual Pokémon roster. Many creatures are designs that never appeared in the official series, which makes each capture surprising. The Nihon region also gives a different perspective compared to Johto. Playing through it, I could see how Game Freak’s early ideas shaped what would later become Generation II.
How to Play
Keyboard Controls:
- Arrow Keys = Move
- Z = Confirm / A Button
- X = Cancel / B Button
- A = L Button
- S = R Button
- Enter = Start
- Shift = Select
Mobile Controls:
- On-screen D-pad for walking.
- Right buttons for confirming, canceling, and opening menus.
