The Different Game Modes of Pokémon X & Y
Trainer Battle is the most played mode wherein you play as a trainer who uses their Pokémon team to fight with others’. You can also go for Gym Battles, where you challenge Gym Leaders to receive badges or Elite Four Battles in case they confront the Elite Four. The special event battles also take place in addition to these standard game modes. They are characterised by specific regulations and/or prize funds which make these events appear more attractive.
How to catch and evolve your Pokémon
If you’ve just started playing with Pokémon X & Y, then probably you want to know how to capture and develop your Pokémon. Here's a quick guide on how to do just that:
The first step towards catching a Pokémon is locating it in the wild. Spot one and go for it, pressing the ‘A’ key to toss a Pokéball at it. However, if this happens well the pokemon will be caught and you shall acquire it.
Just choose a Pokémon you want to evolve and keep pressing ‘Y’ until it evolves. This is the last step and choosing this option will present you with an assortment of evolution menu where you pick the desired evolution option and click on ok key to make your Pokemon evolve. There you go.
Tips and tricks for becoming a Pokémon Master
- First, pick a good pokemon. Some Pokémons are better for warfare than others, while others are not as good. Research to get yourself the best and most suitable Pokémon in the game.
- Train your Pokémon regularly. The harder you push against them the faster they grow. However, ensure they have adequate time for recovery after each battle so that they are not completely exhausted.

- Keep calm always and remain focused on the job at hand. However, battles are often severe but you should keep cool emotionally. Just remember to keep your mind steady and this will help you take fast and effective decisions which may determine between victory and defeat.
